Hint: Can you tell which one is the USB key and which is my hard drive? I can!

Dismount the USB hard drive - "disk1"

diskutil unmountDisk /dev/disk1

dd the image:

  • BSD-dd: sudo dd if=ubuntu-10.10-netbook-i386.dmg of=/dev/rdisk1 bs=1m
  • GNU-dd: sudo dd if=ubuntu-10.10-netbook-i386.dmg of=/dev/rdisk1 bs=1M

Note: The 'rdisk' instead of 'disk', in this case. rdisk is raw disk, which some say is "faster". regardless, I recommend it.
